Homemade iced frappes

Hello lovelies. If like me, you love the iced frappes from McDonalds, then you'll love this post. Last night, me and my daddy decided to try out making McDonalds style frappes at home and they were great so I thought I would share how we done it :-)

Before I tell you what we used, these were definitely more suited for someone who loves a strong coffee so I would definitely recommend using a little bit less coffee if you don't like it too strong or using a lot less coffee if you're not a big coffee fan.

So, we used the following:
  • Coffee granules
  • Milk
  • Ice
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Whipped cream.

And this is how we done it:
  1. Firstly, make sure you have your blender ready and have your ice made already (if you're making your own ice, that is).
  2. Put 2 spoonfuls of coffee granules into a cup and add water (we used cold but you can use hot water and then let it cool a bit).
  3. Add the coffee to 1/2 glass of milk.
  4. Put the coffee/milk mixture into the blender and add ice. We used about 10 ice cubes but use more/less if you wish.
  5. If you have a pulse setting on your blender, then use that a few times until the ice has been crushed up into smaller pieces. If not, just quickly turn it on and off a few times.
  6. Next, add 4 spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream and blend for about 15 seconds.
  7. We then put in some chocolate syrup. I'm not sure how much it was because I just got over-excited and poured loads in but just put how much you want in. The more chocolately you want it, the more chocolate syrup it needs.
  8. Then blend for a further 10 seconds.
  9. Pour the mixture into glasses. This mixture was exactly enough for two glasses.
  10. Then add whipped cream on top and a little chocolate syrup to finish it off.
And that's it! It's definitely something that you can adjust to your own taste. For example, you can add more/less coffee, more/less ice cream and more/less chocolate syrup. It's up to you :-) but our mixture was quite similar to the McDonalds one but just a lot stronger coffee wise.

This was the final result! Don't they look lovely?

I hope you enjoyed this post. And if you decide to make these, good luck and I hope they're just as nice as mine. Until my next post, goodbye!

- xoxo
