Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream | Review

Hello lovelies! Today I have another review for you. This review is of Garnier's Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream for combination to oily skin.

I really hate to say it because I do typically like Garnier products but I seriously regret ever buying this moisturiser. It was such a waste of money (especially when you're a student without much extra money).

These creams come in five different kinds which are all said to accommodate different skin types. I have oily/combination skin so I obviously picked up the 'combination to oily skin' one. When applying this cream it felt so nice on my skin and the way it absorbed in quickly but not quickly was good so I had high hopes for it. However, within a few hours of using it my skin had totally broken out all over. I ended up with small and slightly itchy bumps all over my face and my skin went quite red in places. Never before have I had a reaction like this to any other skincare products so I was shocked. At first I wasn't 100% sure that it was the cream causing it so.I tried it for another two days but my skin was just as bad, if not worse. That's when I decided to stop using it and within two days my skin was completely back to normal. I couldn't believe it.

I really wanted to like this product and I did love how it felt on my skin originally but obviously because of this reaction, I will definitely not be using this product again.

Have any of you had any problems like this before with this product or any other products? Oh and do you have any moisturisers that you would recommend for combination/oily skin? I'd love to hear from you guys.

Thanks for reading and until my next post.. byeeee!

- xoxo

  1. Thanks for your honest review! I wouldn't mind trying it out as it may have a different reaction on me.
I have combination skin (now with the heat it's getting more oily) and I haven't still found the perfect moisturizer. I'm using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, which was good in winter when I had dry patches but maybe it's too moisturizing for you. Hope I could help!!

    1. No problem at all! I'm sure it would be unlikely to have the same reaction on you so it would be good to give it a try. Oh, thanks for the recommendation.. I might have to check it out if I can get my hands on it! Thanks for the comment :-) xx
