New year, new makeup | FOTD

Hello lovelies! Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a fabulous holiday! I just thought I'd share my makeup look from New Year's Eve with you all. To see what products I used, just read on.

So firstly, I'll discuss eyes. I used my lovely Younique mascara (which I have previously reviewed here) and the new love of my life - my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I was able to choose the Naked 2 palette as one of my little Christmas treats and I choose that one rather than 1 or 3 because I think it had a better range of colours and they're colours that I know I'll definitely use. I decided to create a quite shimmery smokey eye for this ocassion. I used the colours Bootycall, Tease, Verve, Pistol and Blackout. As you can see, I've just gone from lightest to darkest and smoked it out a lot. I used Bootycall on my brow bone too as a highlight. After my eyeshadow, I applied Maybelline's Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black and then applied my Younique mascara, which I loveeee. It looks so good on - almost like fake lashes!

For my lips, I kept it quite neutral as my eyes were already dramatic. I've seen a lot of people saying they wore nude colours in case their lipstick smudged during their kiss at midnight but I'm not fooling anyone as I most definitely was one of the sad people standing watching everyone else kiss at midnight and kind of not knowing what to do with myself haha! I'm really loving my Soar lip pencil from Mac at the minute so I used that all over my lips and rather than using a lipstick, I opted for Sleek's gloss me lip gloss in the colour 'Belle of the Ball'. When the lip pencil is paired with this super glossy lip gloss, your lips look a bit bigger than normal but hey, I'm not complaining at all. I really like the look I achieved here! It was super easy to top up as well because the lip pencil stays so well that I only reapplied my gloss once.

The other products I used for this look are as follows:

Base: Illamasqua's Skinbase foundation in #7
Benefit's Boing concealer in #1 and #2
NYC Smooth Skin loose powder in Translucent
Benefit's Hoola bronzer
Illamasqua's Pure Pigment in Static (as highlighter)
Brows: Benefit's Browzings in light

What do you think of this look? I'm really loving smokey eyes and nude lips at the minute. It's definitely my go-to look right now and I just amped it up a bit for New Year's. I can't wait to use my Naked 2 palette a lot more!

Me and my friends all just headed out for a night out in Belfast which was brilliant craic but it soon got extremely messy, haha. What did you do for New Year's? Whatever you did do, I hope you had a great night! Once again, Happy New Year to you all. Thanks for reading! & until next time, goodbye!

- xoxo
